Today in Year 6 we practised subtraction. We continued to calculate and draw angles. Look at Lines and Angles in BBC Bitesize KS2 for more help.
Inspired by the great news of Trine the sea turtle’s recovery, we would like to set you all a nature photography challenge. You might be inspired to photograph birds, flowers, crabs, insects or simply a beautiful view. We look forward to seeing your discoveries. Below are some nature photos from the teachers for inspiration. You have to be patient when photographing nature so take your time with this challenge. There’s no rush as it’s just a bit of fun and a great excuse to get outdoors.
Happy snapping!

Some SJB children have braved the wind and showers and completed Pennington’s netball challenge.
We challenge Dane Ghyll to play some games of cricket next week.
We’ve tried it and it is easy to do with one bat each and a big space between the wickets. We did Diamond Cricket and rounders with a cricket bat.

Today in maths we used this PowerPoint. Have a go at home. We have started reading Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson. You could read along with us. I’ve attached today’s PowerPoint. We’ve read up to chapter 3. We wrote a letter to Maia’s friend back in England.
Action with Communities in Cumbria have a competition open for all SJB children and adults to enter. Based around designing a Plate of Kindness, entries will be judged in the following categories: under 4s, under 7s, under 11s, under 16s and 16 and overs. The closing date for the competition is Friday 3rd July. See full details below on how to enter.
