Year 6 started Book Week with a ‘tasting menu’. Each group tried a variety of books, chatted about their favourites and made recommendations to friends

A great variety of characters in year 2 this year! Well done to all our winners!

Very well done to Izzy, Katelyn and Layla for their brilliant designs. Izzy was the overall winner and we have bags in school if you would like to buy one. All proceeds go to our reading project.

Many thanks to Janey and the Co op in Ulverston for organising the competition and supporting SJB.
You can nominate SJB as your charity on your Co op card.
Lots of creativity here based on Year 6’s favourite books. Well done to everyone for sharing your love of reading.

‘Reading is a gift.’ Well, that certainly seems to be what our Year 4 children believe and we began our Book Week appropriately by opening ‘our gift’ and enjoying and sharing throughout the week.
Special congratulations to our reading competition finalists and winners. There were lots of brilliant performances and it was a joy to hear the children really bringing their stories alive.
Thank you so much to all those who helped our Book Week end with such a marvellous and memorable visual flourish. As you can see from these photographs, there were some absolutely AMAZING costumes! Clearly in so many cases, family members – mums, dads, grandparents and others – had made a fantastic effort and the resulting costumes really displayed their creative ingenuity and arts & crafts skills to wonderful effect. This is so very much appreciated.

Year 1 have loved their World Book Day.
We have had lots of super costumes and book activities this week.

A big thank you to our PTA for giving us money to buy new equipment for Nursery. The children really enjoy playing with it and getting creative. 😀
