Reception had a super trip to Windermere Jetty Museum. We looked around the museum, made and tested paper boats, did some land art on the lake shore and had a trip on the lake in a heritage boat called Penelope.

The children all behaved brilliantly and were a pleasure to take out. Well done to everyone and a big thank you to all our adult helpers for your support.

We definitely had the heat from Greece today! We’ve had a brilliant day painting vases, trying Greek food and wearing our robes.

Please could we have all of our Phonics books, Library books and Reading for Pleasure books back? We need the full sets ready and on the shelves for the start of school in September.

Please put them in book bags.

If you are worried your children will run out of things to read, please talk to your child’s teacher.

Make sure you visit the library in town during the holidays.

We love reading so we made bookmarks!

Thanks to UVHS a small group of representatives from Year 6 enjoyed a day out learning about and working on a range of different eco friendly activities.

They also shared details of what our own eco club have been up to over the past few months, with other local primary schools.

Well done to all involved who were great ambassadors for SJB and thank you to Mrs Ambrose for taking them.

This afternoon we had some members of Ulverston Town Band come and perform in our playground. They played lots of tunes we knew (including baby shark!) and showed us how the instruments worked.

We would like to say a huge SJB thank you to Mrs Benjamin, Jeff and Ole for coming to play.

We had a lovely morning at the cricket pitch. The children enjoyed lots of activities and their families came along to watch them. Lots of grown ups helped out with the games which made it extra special fun. Thanks everyone for all your support.
