Our Christmas lunch was super-tasty today. A big thank you to everyone who ordered, cooked, tidied, served and cleared.

Our Year 5 and 6 athletics team were in action today.
Results will come later in the week but we already know they performed superbly.
We have some incredibly talented athletes at SJB and we cannot fault their commitment and enthusiasm for sport.

Our team of Year 3 and 4 athletes went to Furness College today for the School Games athletics event.
They ran, threw and jumped brilliantly! Their efforts in our morning practices have paid off.
We will know the results by the end of the week.

In Years 2 and 5 we have had a brilliant time this morning with Hannah from Showbie, showing us how much we can do on the iPads. We’ve completed work using annotation tools, taken photos and drawn on them and we have left voice note instructions and stories! The possibilities are endless. We are really looking forward to using these skills in our regular lessons!

We have been working hard on our DT project this week. We have been looking at strengthening structures and learning how to use a saw safely.
In maths we have been representing data using different charts. Our favourite one to use was the bar charts.
In English we have started to read The Christmasasurus by Tom Fletcher. We have had great fun making up rhymes for the North Pole elves.

After learning the cornet last year in music lessons, five Year 6 children are continuing their music journey and have joined Ulverston Training Band with Mrs Benjamin. They have been attending on Tuesday evenings and working very hard.
Their first concert is on Saturday and we are very proud of them! 🎵🎶

Six children from Year 3 and 4 went to Furness College yesterday for a hockey tournament.
They played extremely well and they reached the quarter final .
Three of the children were new to the sport. They all scored a goal and we are really proud of all of them.

Our KS2 paper craft club have been busy this half term. So far they’ve made cards, book marks and Christmas decorations.
Thank you to Mrs O’Connor for sharing her crafty skills.
Look out for more to come next term if you’d like to get involved?
