This week, Year 5 took part in an exciting music production workshop called A Journey Through Sound, led by the team from Horizon Studios.
The workshop gave pupils a chance to explore the world of digital music creation. They learned about how sounds are recorded, layered, and mixed to create a professional track. Using microphones and digital audio software, the children recorded their own samples — from claps and beats to voice snippets — which were then edited and arranged into a collaborative track.
The final result was a fantastic piece of music that truly captured the creativity and energy of the class! It was a brilliant hands-on experience that introduced the children to the basics of music technology and sound production in a fun and inspiring way.
A huge thank you to Horizon Studios for giving our Year 5 pupils such a brilliant workshop!

Year 2 had a wonderful time with Mary, a talented professional harpist who introduced them to the magical world of the harp. Using specially made cardboard harps, the children learned how to pluck strings, create simple tunes, and explore the basics of this beautiful instrument. It was a fun, hands-on session that sparked lots of musical curiosity – thank you, Mary!

We had two 1st places
Three 2nd places
Two 3rd places

We have just decided a date for our Rocksteady concert in December so stay tuned for more details in the next few weeks…

Year 1 have enjoyed learning about seasonal changes. We have also been learning about why we have night time and day time. The children created some artwork to show day and night on Earth.
