Last week, for their homework, Year 6 came up with their favourite reads. They also made a few suggestions for things they haven’t read yet but would like to. We’ve split them into age groups which will follow in separate posts. Just in case the jolly chap in the red suit is watching!

Year 1 have been working very hard on their writing since they came back in September. They have been trying to use their phonics to help them spell and punctuate their sentences. Today we wrote our own stories based on the story of Traction Man. Every child worked extremely hard on their story and I am immensely proud of how much progress they have made! ⭐️

Year 2 have been learning all about Christingles this afternoon.

Thank you for your support at the start of our Reading at Home Campaign. To encourage your children to read each night, teachers have little incentive schemes in their classes. It might be stickers, raffle tickets or something completely different.

A top tip from one of our parents: If your children are worn out and cranky in the evening, they might prefer to listen to a story at night and then do their ‘Echo Reading’ in the morning when they are fresher. Just do what works for you!
