Bake-off in Year 3

The children have been baking this week. We made honey biscuits as this is something the Romans particularly enjoyed.

The children did find this challenging. There is a lot to remember and if you put too much of an ingredient in, it can make baking more difficult.

We have heard that some of the children are baking at home- well done.

Our final CLIC test was completed this morning with some excellent results.

Last spelling challenge tomorrow!

Father Christmas has some helpers.

There was lots to do in Father Christmas’s workshop so Nursery got to work, helping to wrap up the parcels (and also explored 3D shapes at the same time) 🎅🏻🎁

Santa Dash and Santa Run at SJB

All of the children were out running on Friday completing our SJB Santa Dash.

They were all running again today in our Santa Run and they will all take home a medal.

Considering everything that has happened this year, it is obvious that we have physically active children at SJB. Our aim is for all the children to have active, fun and challenging PE lessons whilst returning to their full physical health.

Year 3 in the run up to Christmas

Year 3 finished their work on The Nativity Story last week.

We have spent this week joining clay. The children began joining and making bases on Tuesday. They worked in groups to make Roman Arches on Wednesday. They returned to one of their favourite topics on Thursday and made a volcano.

Next week we will attempt some baking/cooking. There may well be a Roman theme.

Our first writing pens have been given out! There were 10 Big Write Stars last week! The children are enjoying cricket coaching on a Friday! We are all looking forward to The Santa Dash and The Santa Run over the coming days!

Building Bethlehem

Nursery had a go at building Bethlehem with their wooden blocks. They knew all the inns were full, so they made a stable for Mary and Joseph to stay in when Jesus was born.
