Good progress

SWOT analysis and getting familiar with the project brief.

Some of our children are currently being coached by two players from Barrow Raiders as well as well as our friend and former colleague Mrs Parker .
Year 5 and 6 in particular are revelling in the drills and games.
Tag Rugby is a game we have always enjoyed and excelled at in the past and we canβt wait for School Game Tag Rugby events next year. We also look forward to returning to Craven Park to watch the rugby and play at half time.
Please look on the Barrow Raiders Facebook page for details about coaching during the half term!

Year 2 have been exploring the properties of 3D shapes this morning in Maths. We had to make the shapes out of sticks and plasticine then we discussed how many faces, edges and vertices each shape has.

This morning we painted the nests that were inspired by Mina, one of the characters in Skellig.

Some of our Year 5 and 6 children have been competing in orienteering events in the local area.
It is a brilliant feeling being able to take part in sport again.
Our Y6 are getting a taste before heading off to Secondary School. Our Y5s are getting stuck in ready for the exciting challenges of next year.
We have several top 3 finishers and many children are completing the courses having never taken part in orienteering before. Well done!

Year 2 have continued programming this afternoon and completed the rocket challenge! We had to add sprites, change backgrounds and use some technical coding buttons to make our rockets take off!

Year 2 are programming this week and have been using Scratch Junior to practise moving a ‘sprite’ around the programming area.

Things got a bit messy in Nursery today but the children loved it! What a fabulous way to learn about colour mixing. ππ

In Year 1 we have been learning all about safari animals. We have read different books about African animals like Flip Flap Safari and enjoyed guessing which animal it was describing. We have looked at kennings poems and riddles this week. Then we wrote our own riddle about a Safari animal!
