Our trip continued at the Museum of Science and Industry. We visited the exhibitions on the Manchester cotton industry. We have boon learning about life for poor Victorian families. We also had time to play in the experiments room!

As part of our RE curriculum, we visited Manchester Central Mosque. We had a fascinating time with a tour, explanations and lots of opportunities to ask questions.

Year 3 and 5 had a lovely time at Brockhole for their geography field trip! Year 3 navigated the park using compasses and Year 5 completed the orienteering course.

Year 1 had a fantastic afternoon at the park. We looked at the trees and spotted signs of Autumn. We made a collage of Autumn natural materials and made symmetrical pictures! Some of us decided to make our symmetrical picture a face. 😊

Spelling, handwriting and grammar so far.

And now some arithmetic.

Year 2 have completed their first Computing unit on ‘Digital Photography’ this week. We looked at the difference between landscape and portrait photographs, lighting and used the app Pixlr to add effects to our photos. We were very impressed with some of the photographs the children took this week! Photographers in the making!

Year 5,4 and 3 have been competing in the first School Games competition.
They were given the challenge of setting themselves a time and then beating their time.
Most have managed to destroy their first time and some have gone on to beat it a third time!
Our Year 5 team for the UVHS race has been chosen!

3 wins is a lovely way to kick off the sport season girls. Well done to all of you.
