Year 2 have been looking at maps in Geography. We have been searching for human and physical features using aerial and OS maps. We plan to use our map skills on our fieldwork trip before the end of the spring term.

In Nursery, we have been thinking about breathing more slowly so we feel calmer. We tried this activity where we had to use a finger on one hand to trace all the fingers on the other hand. It really tickled! 🤣

Then we had a go at drawing around our hand and decorating the print. That felt really funny. 🤣🤣

This week in Year 1 we have been learning how to use the keyboard. We started the week by learning how to spell and type our name on the keyboard, before learning how to use the space bar, enter and backspace keys. We have built on this learning by finding out how to change the font and size of our writing.

In Nursery, we made some strawberry flavoured Angel Delight to see how it changed when we mixed the powder in with the milk. It turned from white to pink and from runny to thick. The children were very keen to help mix it and even keener to eat it. Yummy! 😋

In Nursery, we have been looking at animals who live in cold places. We decided to draw an owl. We had to think about circle shapes for the eyes and head and then we talked about the texture of the feathers on the owl’s body and made gentle marks with our pens to represent them. The children drew some amazing pictures. 🦉🌟

We had an excellent trip to Manchester last week.

We were delighted that we could take our pupils to see The School of Rock. It was one of the best productions we have seen.
