Our first visit of the day was to Manchester Central Mosque. The Imam talked to us about the Mosque and Islam and then we had a tour of the building.

Brilliant running tonight SJB.
3 wins and some fantastic all round running and results!

Well done and thank you to everyone who joined the clean up today. Our local streets are definitely looking a bit smarter after all the hard work.

Year 1 tomorrow.

Well done to our Year 3 boys who all earned medals last Sunday.
We love rugby at SJB and it’s great to see a group playing outside of school too.

Congratulations to Noah who ran 5km in sub 20 minutes yesterday.
That is an outstanding time for anybody let alone someone in primary school.
You should be proud of yourself Noah.

The SJB community thoroughly enjoyed being part of this local event again this year. Thank you to our team of pupils past and present, families and staff for joining us on a memorable journey through the jam packed streets of Ulverston! Huge thanks to Mrs O’Connor and Mrs Barker for their hard work constructing our ‘bowler hat’ lantern to represent local legend Stan Laurel as our contribution to the ‘On the Screen’ theme.

The first pictures of our fantastic show….

Mr Connell said goodbye to SJB today as he is leaving to take up a Deputy Headship in Barrow. The children made a special song and video for him to celebrate his time here – mainly fixing the computers and being the DJ at the school discos! ‘Mr Connell, can he fix it? Mr Connell, yes he can!’
Thank you, Mr Connell, for all you have done for SJB and best wishes for your new job.

After 10 fantastic years as the Chair of Governors, the school said goodbye and thank you to Mrs Heffernan. She will be greatly missed but has promised to pop back to see us from time to time.
Thank you, Mrs Heffernan, for all you have done for Sir John Barrow School.
