We were delighted to welcome back some of our ‘Brightstars’ from last year.
Our Brightstars project made a profit and the children decided to donate part of that to the hospice. The remainder will be used for the garden next year.
A big thank you to all who came and also to all of the children who worked so hard last year.

This week we have had a tidy up of our bookcase and added lots of new exciting titles! Our firm favourites are Goosebumps, Dog Man and Spider-Man comics.
We have been enjoying composing using samples on the GarageBand app in music. We definitely have some budding DJs in the school!! 🎶🎵
We also as part of music have been looking at the band Public Service Broadcasting. They use samples from historical speeches and advertisements and compose a piece of music to go with it. One piece they composed is called ‘Night Mail’ using the poem Night Mail by W.H.Auden. We then learnt and performed the poem as part of our poetry celebration on Friday.
Now the children deserve a lovely half term. They’ve worked incredibly hard!

The Eco Committee welcomed Martha and Carrick this week as our new Year 1 representatives. They’ve all been busy planning an assembly for after half term to update the rest of the school on their work so far this year.
We’ve had another busy week in Year 5. We have been cooking in DT. Our project focuses on foods around the world and one food that is eaten in most places around the world is bread! We made some flatbread with garlic butter and it was delicious.
We are still continuing to read The Midnight Fox in English and it is starting to get very tense. You can regularly hear gasps when we are echo reading!
In maths we have been working very hard on division problems using our do it, twist it and solve it questions.

Well done to all our Year 4 model makers and parents/carers who helped the children make these wonderful models of Anglo-Saxon buildings. So much effort was made by so many people to make this project a success. Thank you. Model pupils indeed!
It was lovely to be able, at long last, to get out into a sunny playground to make our village.
