Cross Country report by Robyn

SJB had 3 runners qualify for the National Primary Cross Country Championships. They were Maddie, Karolina and Noah.

The runners were delighted to receive their Cumbria hoodie and T-shirt for participating in the event. They looked super cool!

The course was a gruelling 2.7km course which was mostly flat but with lots of mud. We had thunder and lightning just before the girls race.

Because it was relatively flat, we had tough and fast races. The runners did really well considering the circumstances. They were up against the best runners in the country.

Hares led the runners around the course and helped if anyone got injured or lost.

Our runners pushed themselves really hard and gave their absolute best. We are so proud of them!

Thank you for your report Robyn.

Year 1/2 in Grizedale

Year 1 and Year 2 had an epic day out in Grizedale forest. The sun shone brightly all day! ☀️ The children behaved brilliantly, they had fun and they walked very very far! They looked for signs of human and physical features, drew maps and had fun at the park. Well done!

X Country final in Leicester

Proud is not the right word to describe how we feel about our three runners today.

The conditions were far from ideal. MUD! RAIN! THUNDER!

We already thought they were stars but we now think they are superstars after their superb running.

A special mention to Linda Reid for her support in all areas of sport. A particular thank you for her generous contribution to the children’s hoodies.

Gymnastics celebration

Our 2 teams received their certificates today for gymnastics.

Their coach (Mrs Cook) would like to say that they were a credit to the school. She thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

This group have been taking part in gymnastics since they were in KS1 and we have seen a huge improvement in their skills.

The girls would like to say thank you Mrs Cook for coaching them on a Friday morning.

A message from Karolina to Mrs Cook: Thank you for teaching us. I have learnt a lot in our practices.

A message from Maddie: Thank you, you have taken us a long with our gymnastics and helped us to get better.

Final message from Lola: Thank you for taking the time to coach us. I really enjoyed it.
