Thank you for supporting our Christmas treat at the Roxy cinema. The children had a great time. Sorry, it was a bit too dark to take pictures!

SJB have been to lots of competitions (cross country, athletics, football and tag rugby) and we have placed very highly in them. We have all really enjoyed the competitions throughout the year and we hope we can do more sport in 2024.

It has been fun and competitive. We do like to win!

Mr Maher and Miss Salmon train us before school and at lunchtime. The training has paid off.

We have raced at UVHS and at Dowdales. I like running at UVHS because we have a hare to follow which makes it easier.

At athletics we do a variety of events: speed bounce, vertical jump, triple jump, long jump, relays, chest push and javelin.

We were able to send two groups to the tag rugby and 30 children to the Dowdales cross country. We are trained to follow the rules so it can be annoying when some children do not follow them!

Year 5 and 6 had a fabulous time watching the Pantomime written and performed by the pupils from UVHS. As you can see in the pictures we were very invested with the cheering and the booing!
We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to the drama students and Mr Butler at UVHS for putting on the show for us all.

That’s a wrap for SJB sport for 2023!
Brilliant effort from all our competitors!

We had a tasty Christmas lunch today. Thank you to our amazing lunchtime staff. It was great to see so many Christmas outfits too.

The choir had a lovely trip out today sing in Ulverston Market. We sang a lot of Christmas tunes to a large crowd! The children sang so beautifully and confidently – they even brought a tear to some eyes!
W would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, carers, family and friends who turned up to watch us and we would also like to thank Jacqui for inviting us and organising the concert for us.

We have some new Music Ambassadors at SJB. These children have been selected to represent, model and enhance music in school. They each have shown unique talents and in assembly they were introduced explaining why they had been chosen.
We are looking forward to starting new projects and continuing to build the music experience at SJB.

Well done Team SJB!
We look forward to seeing the results from today. Superb running, jumping and throwing!

Year 2 have really loved their learning so far about pillars and exploring how strong paper can be. We have had lots of amazed faces discovering that paper can be very strong when folded. We have explored different pillar shapes to find out which was the strongest and placed books on top as weights. Today we made paper pillars using different shapes for our pillar. We were trying to find out which shape gave us the most storeys. Unfortunately Miss Gardiner didn’t get many pictures as they got rather tall and then toppled over!
