Year 2 have really loved their learning so far about pillars and exploring how strong paper can be. We have had lots of amazed faces discovering that paper can be very strong when folded. We have explored different pillar shapes to find out which was the strongest and placed books on top as weights. Today we made paper pillars using different shapes for our pillar. We were trying to find out which shape gave us the most storeys. Unfortunately Miss Gardiner didn’t get many pictures as they got rather tall and then toppled over!

Well done boys. Brilliant effort!

Well done to our young athletics team. They practised very hard for the tournament against 16 other schools. We look forward to seeing the results.

Every week we have a singing assembly where we learn a variety of songs from all around the world and variety of genres.
We had a very special singing assembly as ukulele club and recorder club played along with the school singing. We performed together the song Stand by Me by Ben E. King.

Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to work with Horizon studios to create their own music track recording samples. They had such a great time and loved listening to their tracks again, again and again. We definitely have some music producers in the making!
Year 6 are looking forward to also experiencing this same opportunity in the coming weeks.
A huge thank you to Josh and Oli for providing such inspirational and engaging sessions.

Year 5 had a fantastic (and wet!) time at Ford Park for their geography field work. We had to follow 4 figure grid references around the park and create a route.
We spent a lovely time in the Kitchen Garden and we would like to say a huge thank you to the gardeners for making it such an interesting visit. We learnt so much about the different plants and the importance of compost.
We had a great visit and also had a little time to test out the playground of course!

What a great event! Many thanks to our Year 6 helpers. You all did a fantastic job.
