We have been looking at the amazing artist Stephen Wiltshire who can draw cityscapes from memory. We have been drawing Ulverston town in the style of Stephen and using a pen. As you can see we need to concentrate!
Recorder club performed in front of nearly the whole school this week in singing assembly! They performed ‘Ode to Joy’ by Beethoven and did a fabulous job!

Our gymnastics team competed last week at Dowdales.
They have been an excellent group to coach.
We hope our Year 6 members continue to enjoy gymnastics at UVHS.
Our young Year 3 team should be very pleased with themselves.

This is Year 6 practising their reading this morning. We work in pairs so that everyone gets a turn. 20 + minutes of reading really helps the children to make progress. Please continue to read at home with your child. It will make a huge difference as they move up to secondary school.

Just a small selection of the amazing costumes and very clever ‘three things’ entries.

On Friday afternoon classes got together to share books.

Results will be in tomorrow but the boys are very pleased with how they did.

We had a fantastic afternoon yesterday listening to finalists in our Reading Competition. All children performed in class first and then the best teams competed in front of the whole school. Very well done to all those who took part in class and in the hall. Thank you to our judges too – you had a very tricky job.

From looking at the blog it looks like Year 5 have had a very quiet time but we can assure you we have been super busy!
We have coded in computing.

We have complete two art projects! We have carved leopards into clay and we have created figures using wire and mod-roc.

We have been learning the PCornet with Gill Benjamin from the Ulverston Training Band.

In R.E we have learnt about Eid and tried some traditional celebration dishes.

We received our Cyclewise certificates.

We have completed our Science module and presented our learning about the Earth and the planets to the rest of the class.
