Year 3 had a fabulous trip to Coniston Water with M&T Adventures. We went canoeing which was brilliant and then made a campfire and toasted marshmallows.

We have enjoyed learning about the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah this half term. This week we made Hanukkah cards, tried some traditional Hanukkah food and lit the Menorah candles. Thank you to Kohan and Mrs Thorpe for cooking the Latkes. Latkes are type of potato cake and they were delicious!

Year 4 children enjoyed a sunny morning’s field work up at Gill Banks Beck. Thank you to Mr Dobson who led the way and showed us all how to measure river flow rates and to begin to understand bank erosion and deposition. Thank you also to all our adult volunteers – we couldn’t run trips like this without your support. The children also enjoyed finding evidence of river life… even if it was a dead fish! We learned many things while having good fun in and around the river.

Year 1 have had a super first few weeks back. We’ve been very busy our learning. Here are a few snapshots of our first few weeks…
We have learned about towers and designed our own!
We have been finding out about how the seasons change and made some posters to show this.
We have been playing in the zone and enhancing our learning further.
We have learned about Shabbat.

It was great to have so many families join team SJB for the lantern procession. There were some super lanterns and we all had a lot of fun parading through the very large crowds that had come to watch. Thanks to all who supported us and made it a memorable event well worth the late night!
