Today we marked two minutes silence at 11:00. The children were quiet and respectful. Thank you to Miss Sadler for playing for us. Thank you to the three children who laid a wreath on behalf of SJB on Sunday.

Great running today SJB!
It was great to see 40+ runners competing today. Well done to those running for the first time.
We have 14 runners off to the Cumbria Cross Country Championships! Brilliant!

We started our collage unit today. We experimented with cutting and tearing tissue paper. Then we used the technique of ‘overlapping’ to create different effects.

Year 5 had a fantastic time completing their Geography fieldwork in Ford Park on Tuesday. They followed a trail using 4 figure grid references on a map of the park. We also managed to enjoy the weather on the park!
They also did a fantastic job helping Year 1 get to the park and crossing the roads safely. They were superstars!

This afternoon Year 2 had a magical musical experience! Mary Dunsford came into school and hosted a harp workshop. The children got to hear her play, play a cardboard harp and compose a piece of music to accompany their story of the term – The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mary for such a fun and engaging workshop. All the children came out with a huge smile on their face!

Thank you once again to Mr Hill, who led our clay workshop and showed Year 4 children how to sculpt their own Sutton Hoo style Anglo-Saxon masks. An enriching creative experience and lots of fun too.
Well done for playing so well girls. A great team you were too!

Thank you also to the fantastic leaders of the mosque in Preston.
