Varjak Art – Year 3

We made printing blocks today from string.

After experimenting with ‘cat’ outlines in our sketch books we transferred our favourite design onto card.

Then we used PVA glue to glue string onto the design.

We are looking forward to trying them out with some paint next week.

Laser Tag competition

We have started the term with an inclusive competition at Laser Quest Barrow.

4 of our Year 6s took part this time against schools from all over Furness.

We have two big tennis competitions next and then a really busy summer of sport. We hope to get as many children to these events as possible.

Beautiful day at the Cross Country Finals

Well done to all our runners who went to Penrith today for the Cumbria Schools Cross Country Competition. They qualified for this event back in October along with some of the best runners in Cumbria.

It was bitterly cold and the children had to run through streams and ponds but we are extremely proud of the way they ran and supported each other.

Florrie has come home with a medal for finishing 3rd out of 70 but we must admit that all the kids deserved a medal for their running.
