Year 1 English

We have started reading ‘Pirates Love Underpants’ today. Listen to the story below.

We then created a map of the island the pirates visited by following the story again. Make sure you include all the parts of the island from the story. Have a go at your own map at home and post your pictures on on Facebook page.

Year 1 Spellings

This weeks spellings recap the ‘ie’ sound. Practise saying them at home, putting dots and dashes underneath each one to identify the sounds and learning how to spell them. You could also write each word in a sentence using your neatest handwriting.

Year 2 at SJB

Our Year 2 group in school has been working very hard in class and they are marching through the Big Maths steps. We move onto Real-Life Maths questions after our sums.

In English we took inspiration from The Snail and the Whale and produced our own stories. Man in the Moon starts next week.

You will need: 2 animal characters, a setting, a weather type and things to see and hear. One example is below.

We have also been using the hockey sticks, cricket bats and tennis rackets to develop our PE skills. 3 members of the group are already showing signs of being able to beat Year 5!
