Here’s a fun art activity for you to enjoy as a family group. Draw around every person’s hand on coloured card or paper then use a black pen to personalise your hand. Decorate with patterns and doodles that are unique to you.

Next week look forward to exploring dinosaurs and fossils in Science and finding out about some incredible people and civilisations in History.

Year 5 have been reading the book ‘Who let the gods out’ by Maz Evans. In the book Elliot and Virgo end up going to Stonehenge.

We have been researching and writing facts about Stonehenge. It is important that we remember that when we are researching and writing notes that we always reference where we got our information from. And if you are copying directly from a book or website you need to put that information in quote marks “”.

On the 21st June was the longest day of the year, which is also know as the Summer Solstice. What links the Summer Solstice and Stonehenge together?

Year 3 have been having great fun building constructions with our loose parts play equipment. They made cannons and tested them by shooting sticks out of them into our big, wide open space.

On a smaller scale, some children made a house for the fairies to live in. They even included a pool so the fairies could cool off after being in the hot sunshine.

Year 1 have been looking at Neil Armstrong this week in History. We learnt about his life, put a time line in order and are building rockets using Lego! Complete the timeline activity at home and have a go at making a rocket!
