Lowry in our colours

Year 4 children enjoyed producing a range of artworks today with reference to the artist L. S. Lowry. Mr Bagnold (an art teacher at a secondary school in Lancaster) came in for a day and guided children through colour theory and drawing/painting techniques. The resulting display was somewhat more colourful than we know Lowry’s paintings to be, but we thought that the vivid palette brought the people and buildings of 1930s Manchester to life. ‘Lowry with a fruit twist!’
