During the week, Year 4 have been working with local artists John and Alex to develop their painting skills. We spent every afternoon having fun and learning all about how to use paints carefully. We learned the importance of keeping our water fresh, making sure our brushes were clean and how to apply the paint for a good level of coverage. Under the guidance of John and Alex the children completed several tasks including a colour wheel, a study of blue gradation and creating their own Sir John Barrow Monument stencil.
On behalf of myself and all of the children, I would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to John and Alex for the sessions. I know that the children have really enjoyed expressing themselves and learning from real artists.
