The Paramedics’ visit to EYFS

Oh my, how exciting! The paramedics brought their ambulance to school today. The children have been learning about ‘People who Help Us’ so the children were able to learn how the ambulance service would help them if they were ill or hurt. They showed us the equipment they would use – magic splints that inflate to keep legs and arms still if they are broken, monitors that tell you how fast your heart is beating and how much oxygen is in your body and so on. We even looked at different breathing masks and tubes that can help you stop feeling pain. Then the boys and girls got to go in the back of the ambulance to see it for themselves. A big thank you to the paramedics for taking the time from their busy day to visit us – it was a great experience.
