Since the early 1990s children and communities in Cumbria have been involved in ‘Boxes of Hope’, a charity that organizes shoeboxes full of gifts to be sent to children in Romania from underprivileged backgrounds. At SJB, the ‘Shoebox Appeal’, as it is commonly known, is given over to Year 6 pupils, parents and friends of the school. Obviously the project cannot run without real generosity on the part of such pupils, parents and friends. This year was no exception and we really would like to say a BIG thank you to all those who contributed. The young children in Romania for whom the shoeboxes are destined may never have received a present before and it is marvellous to do something that can make such a difference to people like this. Thank you all so much!
