SJB Year 6 children were present at the forefront of proceedings at Ulverston’s Remembrance Parade on Sunday 12th November 2017. These children joined the contingent of servicemen and women on parade and attended the special church service. They also laid one of several wreaths at the town’s war memorial. This national act of remembrance seems to be increasingly meaningful for British people of all ages; our children certainly understand that our freedom has come at a cost to so many who have fought to protect and preserve it. They truly were a credit to the school throughout the afternoon and demonstrated great respect as the wreaths were laid. Very many thanks to Mrs Heffernan for accompanying the children for this important event.
