Poetry at SJB

Today we had a great day with visiting poet Wes Magee. Wes performed some of his poems in assembly and the children joined in. He then visited Years 2 – 6 helping each class to write a group poem.  The topics ranged from fire to treasure and back to the damp, dark woods!

We are enormously grateful to the family of Mr Richardson whose kind donation paid for this visit.

On the 13th of October we will be holding a poetry celebration event. Watch out for more details.

We are also launching a poetry competition. The winner will be awarded the Ernie Richardson Poetry Shield. Children will be given more information about this in school. Please encourage your child to take part.
