We had a very exciting day yesterday in Reception as it was finally our school trip! We got on the coach from school and headed to our first stop which was the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway. In Reception we have some children who LOVE trains and as we pulled up at the station they were bouncing with excitement! First things first we had to test out their playground and see what we thought- the children had a whale of a time! We had a brilliant trip on the train and our favourite part was going through the very dark tunnel.
After the train we headed off to Sizergh Castle to go on their Wild Trail. It was a very hot afternoon and we were glad to get into the shade of the trees. The Wild Trail was amazing. There were logs to climb on, wooden stepping stones, wooden insects hiding the trees, clues to find, a wooden bridge and even a rope swing! The children couldn’t believe that they got to explore all of the obstacles and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Before we knew it, it was time to get back on the coach and head back to school. We were all very tired from having so much fun and some of us even had a little snooze on the trip back home.
We would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the Railway staff and the staff at Sizergh castle for making our trip so enjoyable.
