11 pupils from Year 5 walked up Haverthwaite Heights in the pouring rain with their families and Mr Maher on Saturday.
Coniston Old Man was completely covered in cloud so we decided upon a lower level walk.
Despite a few lost shoes and the occasional slip, we reached the top in very good time. We then zigzagged our way down to Haverthwaite station for a brew and a play on the park.
We watched the first train of the year depart from the station and then walked back to the cars in semi-dry conditions.
It was a little bit cruel that Sunday dawned clear and stunning. That’s the Lake District for you! We will be doing another walk very soon.
