Book Week 2017

We had a fantastic, action packed Book Week.

Each class visited the library.  They listened to stories, found out about the on-line resources available and now most of our children have a library card.  Many thanks to the library staff for making us so welcome.

Year 6 children ran the Scholastic book fair throughout the week.

On Wednesday the Music Festival competitors performed their poems in the hall for KS2.

Thursday afternoon saw the tense final of the Reading Competition.  The Infant competition was won by Year 1, Year 2 came second and Reception came third.  Well done!In KS2 congratulations go to the winning team from Year 5 and the runners up in Years 6 and 4.Thank you to our judges who had such difficult decisions to make.

Fancy Dress Friday was a huge success with more children than ever dressed up as an array of colourful characters.  Thank you to all those families who worked hard to create such amazing costumes. Again, thank you to our judges – we don’t envy your job!

We finished the week with a Reading Safari.  In mixed-age groups, children toured the school, stopping off for a story in six locations. Many thanks to parents and carers who came in to travel with groups or to read stories.
