Learning about Bulgaria in Reception.

We have had a very busy week in Reception. We had Gabriela from the Cumbria Development Education Centre come in and teach us all about spring time in Bulgaria.  We learnt all about ‘Baba Marta Day’ which is a holiday celebrated in Bulgaria on the 1st March.  Gabriela told us the story about ‘Baba Marta’.

We got to look at Martenitas which are small red and white cotton wrist bands or tassels that are worn on your wrist until the blossom appears on the trees. Then the Martenitas are hung on the tree.

We got to write in Bulgarian and see what our name looked like in Bulgarian.

We would like to say a massive THANK YOU! to Gabriela for coming in- we really enjoyed it!
