In Year 1 we have been busy learning about castles and the children have had the chance to participate in a range of historical and design based activities. On Wednesday, Year 1 invited parents along to a castle building workshop. In small teams, the children and parents set about building their castles using cardboard. The children were keen to show off their newly acquired knowledge of castles and it was fantastic to see them creating drawbridges, portcullises, arrow slits and moats. All children showed great teamwork skills and worked together to create different areas of the castle. We were extremely pleased with our finished castles and we are looking forward to our trip to Lowther Castle later in the term. A big thank you to Mrs Sainsbury and Mrs Macleod for organising a wonderful afternoon.
