On Thursday and Friday, Year 5 took part in Forest Schools.
16 children spent the day outside on Thursday in what can only be described as changeable conditions. Every day this week has presented challenges in one way or another and the weather on Thursday certainly added to this.
This was a brilliant group to work with and they showed great team work throughout the day. They used bill hooks, bow saws, sheath knives and augers on their way to making stools. For a large portion of the day, Mr Maher and Mr Fellows were mere bystanders as the children worked on their designs and completed them in record time.
The remaining Year 5s came outside on Friday. This was a day where many of the children really excelled themselves. It was also a day where some children really had to persevere in order to achieve the set goals.
Many thanks to Miss Porter, Miss Stein and Mr Fellows who joined in during the week and were an enormous help to the children.
