Year 5 made parachutes last week and they were able to test the effects of air resistance on Wednesday morning.
Using three different sizes of parachute, we went outside to investigate. The class had already predicted that the larger parachute would catch the most air and therefore create the most air resistance.
We repeated the experiment 5 times for each size to ensure it was fair and so we could work out an average in the afternoon. Some very clear anomalies appeared in the results which they had to explain in their conclusions.
This is the fourth investigation Year 5 have completed and they can look forward to more in Year 6.
