Year 3 took part in Forest School activities on Friday.
The weather held off long enough for the children to practice using a mallet and to identify all the trees in the SJB playground.
The children also created a leaf lantern using a glass jar, foliage and a candle.
The teachers were very happy with their behaviour so Mr Maher got the Bow Saws out. They each had a go at sawing wood. Many of the children found this a challenge but all of them succeeded in cutting through the wood.
It was nice to get the pupils working with the tools early on as they will be able to use their skills in Year 4.
Well done Year 3. More to come!
