Whacked for four!

On Friday SJB took part in a cricket competition at Barrow CC against seven other teams. With the event being rained off on Monday, the 10 Year 6s were determined to give it their all.

A tense first game, in which Emily Pike took 3 wickets and Ethan smashed several sixes, was about as close as a game can get. They emerged victorious after a thrilling game of cricket.

With Mr Maher umpiring and Mrs Parker scoring, they won their second game with some stunning catches and fielding. In the third game they showed off all their skills and hit 270+ runs in a great team effort to earn another victory.

The semi-final game was arguably their finest display. Against a superb opposition, they bowled well and made a couple of catches. Ben in particular made sure they did not accelerate at the end. Dylan had the whole opposition team quaking in their boots when he helped hit 16 off the very first over. Some mammoth hits from the middle order was not quite enough to beat a very good side.

Thanks to Jake for organising the competition. MORE PLEASE! Also a big thanks to the other teams from the area who took part. Good days cricket.
