I had a really interesting day yesterday visiting a city primary school in Tokyo. The children start school at 6 years old and leave at 11 years old. The school was very big, it reminded me of an English secondary school. Apparently it is not typical of schools in Japan. The staff and children were all very welcoming and friendly. The children performed musically using the drums, one of their aims was to play with feeling. It was very inspiring and I think a drumming club at Sjb would be really good.😄 What do you think? I watched a music, art and English lesson. Then we had a school lunch with the children in the classroom. It was a challenge to eat with chopsticks in front of the experts. 😉 The children performed a dance – think street dance/Bollywood and you’ll get the idea – it was great.
